I agree, she's beautiful, and I'm glad that you've created a portrait that recognises that.

I also lament the fact that society (and media) has conditioned us to the point that not only are older women often reluctant to pose (as models of beauty,) but they will receive unkind criticism from an unforgiving audience if they do so.

So my thanks and congratulations to you on presenting this photograph, my compliments to the beautiful Erika - and while the soft focus is not my preference, I understand your reasoning.

You are totally right John, this is a very attractive, mot so young anymore, lady.
Love her facial expression, as if she miles and miles away with her thought, and atleast not on the ship you are sailing on, at that moment.
You've cought her at a wonderful moment and made a beautiful portrait of it.
I alsol love the way you did frame the portrait.
I pesonally though would like to have seen a little more space on the right side to give her a bit more room to look in to.

it could be a good photo... the model and her pose are well captured but it seems that there is some problems due to the post processing : too much pixels on her eyes and on the ring.

Enfin, start again, a excellent portrait regarding mood an character! The expression of thinking is perfect presented in this picture, you already mentioned about the quality in your note, fair enough and it stays a magnificent framed picture of this good looking mature woman. Not those tight and 'smooth' PP-faces from the comsmopolitan :-) [although I must admit there are attractive pictures of thos tighties ans smoothies]

Hi John,
A lovely photographers note to go with a lovely lady. Good expression captured and good bold colours. I do think a little more space to the right would work better. I do like the dreamy effect and is well suited to the pose. However, your post processing skills needs some improving. The image is patchy and grainy on and around the eyes, nose, ring and fingers. I can understand why you would not want to soften those areas. You did not mention how you softened, but may be there could be an alternate method that would get better results for you.

Hi John,

Wow...age does not matter, this is what i called eternal and longlasting beauty. Beauty is not in the physical outlook, but from within for that is what love is all about. If we were to fell in love just because of the physical, then i will always believe the love will not be longlasting as eternal love will continue to flourish since a couple who can sustain their love forever are those who loved each others inner beauty.

I think this is a very nice photo. I like the sharpness of the eyes and the nearly blur around the mouth. It definitely creates that dreamy effect. She is very lovely lady. We all know you are a true gentleman and that is why you can recognise true beauty on different levels. I'm trying very hard to teach my two boys this.

It is a shame to see so many positive comments on this photo which is absolutely no good as far as I am conserned,John.What a deception also to see people having a great photographic knowledge giviung you praise for this picture.I have nothing against you personnally,John,(I even gave you a positive feedback on the previous posting) but when a photo is no good,it is no good! You mentioned in your notes that you deliberatly took a soft focus.I think that you .by mistake,took a wrong focus on the ring area instead of the face itself.With a 300mm lens,we have to be very careful about this.I have followwed several photography courses to know what I am talking about.When I see such a fan club giving¨"BLINDLY" crritiques I AM SHOCKED and this is why soo many new and old TL members do not see TL as it used to be.A SHAME on all your blind fan club who are NOT ABLE ANYMORE TO CRITICIZE YOUR WORK as it should be! Read the other negatives comments on this photo,Ths skin would need a good neat treatment,the sharpening around the eye is too hard.I agree that you captured a very nice expression form that lady,it is true that the is nice looking but it does not make a good photo for those reasons.Best regards!

This picture COULD have been good, but PP is absolutely bad... and it gives a catastrophic result

why did you blured so much the skin , leaving only some small part sharp ? you should have blured all the picture, or nothing...

Yes you are right, this is a very atractive Lady.
The power is around/in the eyes. Being a 'younger ' man I agree this Lady ''has it''! Very apealing .. welldone on the soft focus dream mood and to give the eyes a little extra sharpness(maybe after? ) was a good idea. Compliments :-)

There is also something in this photo I like to highlight clearly: you where able, however you did it, to show the mood-emotion here, wich I find wonderfull!
