Nicely done, John! The whitewash stucco really makes the sky pop out strong. The mediterranean sun is very harsh. I can just feel the heat reflected away from the walls. As for the inside, I believe Ruud posted some interior shots from a small greek church some time ago. He had also sent me some icons at that time, since I was paericularly interested in that subject.

I mean this is beautiful shot with that Greek spirit, I love this country and views there are outstanding. Like you says in your note - essence of Ellada or Hellas or just Greece.

There is a lovely balance of light and colour in this picture and I very much like the composition as well. Perfect in all other repects I reckon too!
I agree with you about respecting the desire of people not to be photographed in certain situations, like the one you describe here, Even though it often means passing up the chance for a great photograph.

Neatly composed shot. Some compression artifacts visible, this is one of the pictures that I do not know how to decently convert to jpeg. The trouble comes from the high frequency components in the stone walls that do not render themselves to the algorithm.
