Hello John,
An very interesting POV here in the main picture, good composition and DOF.
But the "workshop", though perhaps not in the conventional sense a technically/aesthetically perfect composition, is nontheless, a very interesting picture too and perhaps, for my money, the better shot.
I of course fully agree with your sentiments on Greece and the serious problems She currently faces.
Very best wishes
Bill

Good morning John,
Yes I saw that on news, and very detailed story too :(. Very very sad thing. Whatever natural fire or man created...the final disaster is the same.
Even though you said about the photo quality, the purpose and meaning behind uploading this photo is very honest and sincere. I never been to Greece, and hope to go one day in future. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I'm planning a visit next May, so I hope there's still something left by then. Most fires are said to have been started deliberately. I hope the criminals that did it will be caught real soon, they can be torched themselves for all I care...
The yellow line on the pier does give a sense of "danger" here, John. Very thoughtful of you to remind us of this drama. TFS and for the workshop view as well.
Hi John
I like the convergence of the 3 dominant elements towards a central fg point at right.
Re the recent horrific fires in Greece, I found this satellite image on Earth Observatory (Nasa)

Good image & notes.
I heard the news yesterday & am worried about our friends in Greece. If you have any news about them please pass over to us.
Seems that not nature but men had a hand in setting the woods on fire.
Take care,
Mitra

I heard about this! My sister's family is from Greece and she says that the government tries to preserve the forests and the locals get mad because they want to live there, so they set it on fire! I hope it stops soon...but lots of GOOD come out of fires, as long as no property or lives are lost!

Hi john..
as the greece today, as Katrina two years ago in New Orleans, as the tragedyes of the wars, the diseases, the poverty, in each part of the world.. we have to be in silence, to pray and to be near at the pain of these persons..
nothing is lost until all isnt lost.. the hope is the seed of life...
a great shot and a great note.. amico mio
Ciao Marco

Hello John!
Its tragic news.
On another site, a artist friend from Greece illustrated this very poignantly here. I don't know about the rest of the world, but it seems there are more severe draughts, heat and fires than ever before! We had rain yesterday for the first time in 2 months, Greece could use some heavy rain to bring things under control!
Thanks for bringing this to everyones attention!

Hello John:)))
Great work for Greece and Greek people - I was there for two and a half years from 1987 to 89 and I love this country witch one is so beautiful with gorgeous residents.
It is so sad what is going on in there right now, that never spouse to be hapend and I feel so bad, I pray for these who died and these who lost everything - we can only keep asking with other Greeks - WHY???
Thank you for that pic in workshop - there on left of Acropolis Hill is also well visible Licavitos - that famous hill you can see all athens from top of it.
Ellada will never die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you "know" people out there, news like that gets a whole other perspective....seems that not nature but men had a hand in setting the woods on fire.
You have an absolutely great perspective here.
Wonderful picture.
We had the pleasure of enjoying Athens after a view days of rain, so no air pollution and wonderful views from Lycabettus Hill.
Thanks for sharing both pictures and note - we will pray that no more lives are lost and the fires will be under control soon.

Dear John,
It is truly a sad moment in Greek history, our lovely country lost almost 1/3 of its much needed woods and the loss of life and property is huge. We will try to rebuild out of our ashes our country and hope that this will be the last time. I must mention that France, Cyprus, Russia and other countries gave us support with firefighting planes and helicopters, and we are grateful.
TFS,
Vassilis

Hi dear Bro, yes, Greece in flame. Terrible! I heard yesterday on the news that the residential developpers are the ones who set the fire, to get the land at a cheap cost for developpement. Terrible!
this is an original composition and makes it a kind of graphical image. Nice bright colours.
Also the ws is very informative.
Well done! sis :)
ps: Yes in my dreams too I am going to Holland and visit you and friends. To bad Ben and I cannot. Lets hope that we will be able in the near future.

Hello Sir John,
Your composition is beautiful here along with the thoughtfulness in its perspective. Nice selection of view point. Indeed, the sad demise of Greek fire is heart breaking. Thus, a lovely tribute to them within a motivational quotation. Well done.
Thanks for sharing this lovely image.
