what a very concentrated expression, i like to see a more psychological portrait than your typical smiley portrait. the quality of the B/W is excellent, but technically, it seems to be front-focused on his shoulder where as the absolute focus should be on his eyes and face.
now to make something look sharper, you blur the area around it. i'll workshop it to illustrate that.
