Good morning Johnny,
Oh..now here we see this "sexy legs" guy full in action :D
I like this composition, well place in the frame.
You got right time with his leg up.
It is a nice photo, with lots of details, and I like the color tones here (earthy).
BTW, that seems very hard way of marching...
Have a wonderful Sunday

Hello John,
Very good thought to use the Evzones to play, but I think the "Foustanella" will be a problem!lol!!! Very good shot, nicely composed and very good lighting and detail.
Now about the ws What can I say, you definitely can be Greek! You look majestic in this traditional costume. I feel that I will shortly appear probably as a Dutch Master!lol!!
TFS,
Greetings,
Vassilis
Nou, als ze zo voetballen, dan kan zelfs ons elftal hier wel van winnen, toch ? Schiet mij maar lek.! haha
Excellent 'action'-'shot'.
The winner shoots them all.

Great WS. PS does great work. The Evzone captures are really good. I like the freezing of specific movements and the colors.

Just managed to get that foot in John, it is though he is resting it on the frame. Good colour and nice control of the light. Regarding the workshop, nice workby Vassilis but I don't think the hairstyle and beard quite go with the costume, Constantinos would look good in it :). TFS,
Dave
I didn't "get" the very tight crop, John... until I read your note, that is. Ah, forget about the Belgians not playing in the EC... they're not worth it. But a team of Evzones might prove invincible indeed ☺^☺.
I like the low angle you used here, though it's not low enough to show if they wear panties or stockings LOL.
John, a couple of shots ago, when you first posted the legs of an evzone, you said you couldn't possibly be one because you're too short. I guess you told a little lie on tl, because I caught you red-handed err... red-hooded! (see ws).
TFS.

Great idea on the string, seems I read about that in some magazine and never did try it. But the master says it will work I will try.
The writing on the wall add to my interest as well as those shoes. Greece is on our to do list. I'm enjoying your posting from the Isles.

Hi John
The quintessential Greek soldier shot. A superb profiled view, with good sharpness & framing. Excellent colour, & yes, they also make formidable soccer players!

When I visited Athens, couple of couple of years back, :), I didn't have my nowadays beloved Nikon, but instead I had a soap-format camera with regular Kodak film... By the time I left Greece I had 5 or 6 rolls worth of shots, which I entrusted to my husband to develop and print in tha States (while I was back in Romania)... They stayed in a drawer for a couple of years,( :O ), and out of the 5 or 6 rolls I got only ONE picture! :(
So my advice to all of the TL-ers...don't ever let your spouse deal with your camera/shots/films...unless you're absolutely sure they know what they're doing! :)))
Nice capture of the guard in motion, John! Have a wonderful, sunny week!
Best regards,
Diana

Hi John,
Interesting photo tip, but an even better photo!! I must admit that soccer players have the best legs (did I just say that?;D)..LOL...
I love the evzons and their terrific costumes. Great movement stopped. Perfect timing.

Hi John,
Excellent action shot, well composed in beautiful color tones.
I saw the WS too and I think you look good in that traditional Greek costume, but, because your blue eyes, you dont't have a mediterranean look. :-))
I wish a good week,

Hi Bro, very nice. would be prefarable to have a bit of breathing space for the shoe on the right.
Well done and nice colours.
Good closeup.
Nice colours, almost monochromatic with the stones coordinated with the outfit.
Funny to see the man with his leg up.
Haha, the ws with you in the costume is really funny! :-D A dutch-greek guard! hihihi! Very cute.
I like the ws of Dingo doing the crop on the walking guards.
Cheers, sis :)

HI John
Great shot of the raised leg, definitely a good action shot.
Got to say the costume on you in the workshop is rather becoming, and in order to get even with Vasillis for putting you in skirts, you would have to make him a Dutch maiden.

Interesting photo and POV.
I know it's been said, but those are some SHOES!!!
Good timing on the capture and nice crop to go along with it, really makes the raised leg work.
Nice and sharp with good lighting as well.
The note is a great addition to the photo.
Going to have to try the 'string thing'. Thanks for that.

Hi John
You're a hugely respected member of TL and you have so many fans, so I'm probably going to earn their derision by saying this - but in my opinion this shot doesn't work so well.
I understand the idea - that he's trying to kick away the photo frame and get to the football - but it lacks the creativity of some of your other shots, the whole "out of frame" PP.
Alternatively you could've posted the uncropped version, expanded the frame to the right, and had a football flying out of the shot, as if he's kicking for goal!
Rew
HI John
I like the idea here, but I really would have preferred to see all of his foot :)
I know you're trying to tell a funny story, but it doesn't work as a composition. An out-of-bounds frame would have been better, and an even tighter crop from behind.
We're all here to learn about photography, so please forgive me if I find that I mus be honest about this.
Nice light and colours

John,
Thanks for posting the original to a WS at my request. I thought that the image suffered because of a severe crop and my suspicion was correct. I didn't want to suggest that if that's wasn't the case. You know we are always supposed to be suggesting ways to improve each others photographs, that's the whole idea of Trek Lens. I am not too sure about guys foot being so close to the border, well, close enough to be missing a heel. The frame/border you made is interesting but I cannot think of an application for the wall that you could apply this other than on an unframed poster for the wall. Not a bad image but surely it could use some improvement and not "completely" worthy of the rave reviews it has received.
I appreciate you posting the full image, it confirmed my thoughts and helped me understand the graininess on the skin below the guys ear.
Have good day!
Scott

Great photo with interesting information and story John. I love the colours and the perfect timing. The writing on the wall gives it an air of seriousness. I can’t imagine doing this for extended periods of time, ok for any time. Great capture and thank you for the great information. I for one will try it. Well done.
