...in ancient Greece... the ladies have to do the hard work ☺^☺, sustaining this roof on the Erechteion.

Well, these are copies anyway, the originals can be admired in the new Akropolis museum which can be found... below the Akropolis. We didn't visit it, due to time limitations. Con and Eleni told us that it was an idea to demolish some buildings between the new museum and the Akropolis. Since it were old buildings, they have been saved. Anyway, I'll post a view on the new Akropolis museum as a ws later on.

Tech talk

In camera compo.

Adjustment layers for levels & curves - only minor adjustments, though.

Downsized, framed and signed.

Will be back later on, tired now after a couple of days redecorating the kitchen and installing new appliances...

salut,

Robert

You capture it beautifully Frank.

A classic view, and one we've seen many times before here - and even knowing it's not the original, it still gives a sense of wonder. So many generations have lived under the gaze of these statues, to us they have been there forever; in geological terms it's as brief as a sculpture made of butter.
Beautiful capture, well presented

The feminists will haunt you Frank :). Lovely colours and textures in the ancient stonework. Just enough PP work to bring out the colour and detail, well composed and presented.

PS thanks for the 'slideshow'

Hi Frank,

I like the close crop you have of the structure with Athens in the background. Nice detail of the statues hard at work! HA!

Makes me ready to visit Greece! Yiassou!!

Hi Frank
One of the most photographed scenes on the Acropolis, yet with a fresh look and a great POV. I like the sharp details and the modern city behind blending together in a marvelous way.
Well done and TFS

Copies though they be, it is still good to see where they come from. Very fine details, nicely handled light and shadow.
And I must say that I just love the style and placement of your signature :)

Fortunately in Portugal, the ladies still do the hard work... Hi..Hi...Hi...

Best regards,

Man man man toch !
( miaauwww ... )
;-)

Nu ik ben streng-maar-rechtvaardig.
Denk ik.
Zij die me hierin niet volgen
hebben me nog niet begrepen.
Dat weet ik. ( Ook ivm emancipatie. )
Dat laat ik maar beter rusten.
LOL !

Je hebt me hier weer eens iets voorgeschoteld hé ...

( daar is ie weer )

>:-)

Groetjes
Jan

Hi Frank,
Nice capture, the light and composition really bring out the details of the architecture, good job on that.
The depth is perfect, allowing enough of the modern times in the background to contrast with the example of ancient times in the foreground.
Excellent and controlled pp work too.
Thanks,
Wilt
