nice two tone colors with interesting and unique composition .the repetition of machines in background give an attractive eye catch with good depth sense .good pesentation with soft black as frame as well :)

Well seen and captured ! Text book composition. The dull grey day is enhancing very well the mood with this unusual and busy background. A lovely shot.

PS. Maybe a partial desaturation would have worked too provided there was something to save and enhance from the gondola.

nice to see you here too :)
This photo was immediately my first choice.
It has everything I like: simplicity, wonderful contrast of motives and superb ambient, mood created by pinkish BW treatment.
It sure does appear little surreal with gondola crusing among cranes but your explanation makes sense and at the same time create excellent photo.
