Though Thessaloniki is one of the most polluted European cities and there is a lot of pollution in its waters, quite a lot of people fish there.
I have used a high shutter speed to freeze the movement.

wow very nicely composed shot. Very nice sharp shot

There's something about it that doesn't "do" it for me... One thing is that the camera has exposed for the gray sky (understandably), which of course resulted in the man being underexposed. You should try to lift the shadows a bit, or even use dodge locally to bring up the details on his face.

Composition-wise, there's too much negative space (and GRAY space, as a matter of fact), which makes the image appear overly empty and dull. The horizon is not straight, and for some funny reason I'm also put off by the fact that we can't really see the fishing line

very well captured, somehow we could wish this was a part of a bigger photo with all the cut detail in the top... and printed in poster format, i like the scene you show
