[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken last month in Mykonos, Greece on a spectacularly sunny and cloudless day. Locals said, it's always beautiful there, but for me it was special.
I thought the architecture and the shapes all in stark white against the deep blue sky was just stunning.
No polarizer or special processing tricks here; that's just how great the sky was that day.
Shot in RAW, converted to jpeg and resized.

Wow!! It looks absolutely stunning white on blue. Very well composed and exposed. Well done Wilt. Cheers - Adil.

Fantastic Wilt! This is what always comes to mind when you think of Greece ... stark blue and white.
Great exposure with the white wall and bright sunlight .. great textured wall, great sky.

These contrasting images of places like Mykonos amaze me time and time again...
I love this Wilt! Great shot.

Cheers,
Anneke

Yassou Wilt,

Lovely postcard. I like this low POV. Perfect tones and contrasts. Not easy to do under these conditions with the white walls.
Great light metering.
Robert

Nice Wilt - indeed this is VERY GREECE.. At least how most of the world thinks of the place.. I love the old whitewashed walls and you've captured them well..
If anything to critique about I'd say slightly underexposed - like shooting on white sand or snow it's easy to let the camera be fooled by the brilliance of the light here.. I would usually set +1 EV with a scene like this - the white will be blinding but as you know - this is how it really is.. Without sunglasses on you just can't look for real at a scene like this!!

I really look forward to seeing more shots like this - hope you've got a few ;)

David

Hi Wilt,
Awesome shot, the structure stands out perfectly against the deep blue sky. Were you using a CPL for this? Very clear and sharp details, the exposure looks spot on to me. Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Wilt,
The Greece blue sky is well shown, excellent contrast with the typical white Greece building. Excellent handling of the harsh light,no OE spots observed at all. Great posting Wilt!
Hans

Love the contrasts between light and shade, white and blue; and the bisection of the shot between those two colours. The tiny fragment of cloud visible to the lower right is a nice touch.
You wide lens certainly would help with the saturation of the sky - as more light (thus colour) is gathered in, as opposed to using a longer focal length.

A nice capture of the Paraportiani church, Wilt. Though I'd have loved to see more of the building, a wider angle would be better imo. I only have slides of Mykonos, will have to look at them again, after some odd 18 years ;o)
Sharpness, colour balance, compo: spot on.
TFS!

white and blue are the perfect match combination.. i see that you went for a vacation.. how i envy you, Wilth.. my going to Europe has been postponed due to the outbreak.. yaii maybe next year or end of the year perhaps :)
anyway the composition, colours and detail are lovely.. nice work..

regards, terry
