From my recent short summer vacations at Tinos and Mykonos islands. This is the most photographed sight in Mykonos island, the famous "Little Venice"

Short infos about "Little Venice" in Mykonos:
Many of the early ship's captains built distinguished houses directly on the sea here, with wooden balconies overlooking the water. Today this neighborhood, at the southwest end of the port, is called Little Venice. A few of the old houses have been turned into stylish bars, which are quite romantic at twilight.

Mykonos hides a lot of surprises. One of these are the settlement of Aleukantras or the Little Venice, people used to call this area which is really unique.
It is found to the east side of Mykonos harbour. It begins from the beach of Aleukantras and arrives to the old district of Castle.
Little Venice characterize from the intense colours that are dyed the houses.

They are really in the water. Doesn't the water come into the buildings? This is the sea not canals like in Venice. It is so beautiful and it must be amazing to stay so close to the water but I'll be a bit concerned. Very nice photo though with the typical blue and white. Nice colour water, the island blue-green.

Το μελτεμι δίνει θαμάσια ατμόσφαιρα και πολύ καθαρά χρώματα. Πολύ καθαρή και ζωντανή εικόνα Μπάμπη.

Very interesting shot of this strange architecture of Mykonos, Mpampis. The houses seem to be all built on top of each others and maybe leaning toward falling in the ocean. Seems a bit chaotic. The colours are great and it has a postcard feel to it. Well done!

I've been twice on the island. But the last time is more than 10 years ago. I remember walking exactly there. It is one of the most beautiful points of this amazing island.
Beautiful image!!!

It's the second view of Little Venice I critique tonight, Μπάμπη ;o) (the other one is by Alli - Annagrace). I was there in '91, and particularly remember the awesome sunsets that seemed to set those lovely balconies on fire ;o). Good use of the polariser here, I think. What are those small objects "floating" over the hill in the leftmost part of the shot ?
TFS.

Hi Mpampis, I love this shot, I can imagine it on the poster on my wall! The colours are amazing!
