THE FATHER.

He’d been leaning across his knee, watching me take the portrait of his wife, a little smile of interest around his lips.
I turned to him, nodded, he immediately sat up straight.
He knew the drill by now, I only ever ask them to look in the lens, not smile or 'cheese'.

Like I said yesterday, to the Cretans, having a photo taken is serious business.
Not to the friends around, they’re laughing and joking.

Prina, the mountain village where time stood still and old people (the young have left) are kind, have time to spend with each other and visitors.
Of course there were drinks afterwards at the Kafeneon, where a vine grows out of the floor inside and reaches through the window cut around it.

All in all a great experience I will forever remember.
