[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Now, when winter comes to the Northern hemisphere, it's time to remember the summer a bit... What You see here is Mahonia aquifolium, a mini-bush from my parents' garden, in July, with berries.

This plant originates from North America, but likes the continental European climate so well, that sometimes, in less shady forests closed to edges of villages it's already growing wildly. Evergreen, its maximum height is 1-1,5 meters. Blooming: April - May, having small yellow flowers. Ripening of berries: July - September. Simple yet strong plant, growing on every ground-type. Not sensitive for dryness and light conditions.

PP: exposure time and adaptive lighting a little back with HP Image Zone, framing, signing and re-sizing with Photoshop.

I like the unique plant. I wonder if you could have chosen a different aperature to put the background out of focus. Just a thought. TFS. K2

A very pleasing composition, indeed a much needed reminder of those summer days.
Love the patches of sunlight and the matting of the BG provides it with that balanced feel you get from watching Japanese paintings.
