Hi Folks,

Now, when there's winter on the Northern hemisphere, I invite You to a late summer journey into the Bükk mountains, Hungary, near the ranch of Szentlélek, into a beech (Fagus sylvatica) forest, where there are microphones / periscopes popping out officially named Macrolepiota procera, and the ground's covered with the evergreen Vinca minor.

I like these mountains so much, and I love to hike and photograph every inch of them - mostly if there are mushrooms on 'em. :)

To those interested in geography: I uploaded a lot of photos from the "city" of Szentlélek, that You may guess it's at least a village. But in reality Szentlélek's nothing more than a ruin of a monastery and 3 pensions within one square kilometer, so the constant population (stewards of the pensions and their family) is less than 20 people... So I'm not sure You can find this ranch with Your GPS or even on Google Earth...

I found this unpublished image on the HDD, but a very similar photo, even showing the same mushroom, was already uploaded to TrekNature. People with special 3D glasses may also see this parasol mushroom in stereo.

Title was adopted from the famous Nirvana-song "Smells Like Teen Spirit". :)

PP: nothing really extraordinary. But I hope You'll
like the image.

Hi Laszlo,

A very good POV here and of course a good capture of a mushroom - and since you know what you are doing when it comes to mushrooms I don't have to worry.
TFS and have a nice weekend,
Els

Interesting image Laszlo.
We have a lot of Periwinkle growing here too,but it is considered a weed really because it is so invasive.
I guess this forest would be full of little blue flowers in spring?
Cheers
Steve

Hi Lazzy
Superb graphism of dark on light. Good sharpness & framing, adding a welcome splash of colour.
