Hello Trekkers!

Last weekend I went to shoot the wildlife around my place! The weather was quite bad (overcast and snowy) so I decided to take my 180mm with me instead of the 300mm because of the better f-stop!

Who said mallards cannot be trained? Just arm yourself with some duck-food and throw it to the proper direction to make them fly and land in front of you! :))) They are really funny as taking off and landing!
Like this waterskier fella! :)

PP: needed to adjust the white-balance and contrast and a slight saturation on water to make it more enjoyable! Hope you like it!

cheers

Nice photo and nice movement of the duck!
Well done and good colors

I have one duck in my account before and after..
Ciao
Lucio

Have you got yourself a new pet? :) Outstanding work. If you were to have a bit more DOF to cover its wings, it would even be better.

Hi Tom,

A brilliant capture here, I like how you got him with his wings fully extended and just touching the water. Excellent detail! Good work!

John

Ugyesen elkaptad: szepen bemozdult szarnyak, teljesen 'befagyasztott' uszohartyas labak. Jo, termeszetes szinek. A compzicion lehetne javitania, ha a madarka egyuttmukodna... ;) Esetleg ha a teljes arnyek is latszana... Asking for too much, I know... ;)) 9,7 pont a 10-bol, ToM! Jo! :)

Hi ToM,
Superb capture of this mallard. I like the action and the movement of this landing with superb colors and sharpness. You've catch it at the exact moment the feet were touching teh water. Very well done.
Luc

Wow! Really good action shot of this water skier. Love the colours of the Mallard duck. Perfect timing to get the feet outstretched like that and the splash of water. Maybe lighten the left part of the head and beak a bit. Just a suggestion. The colours are outstanding. Well done.

Hi Tom. Great shot. a moment of time frozen. Thanks for sharing

Nice action image. Well done.

Thanks for sharing

Hi ToM,

This is stunning!!!
Fantastic colours, very vivid and great POV. You've captured very well the landing here. It's like the duck is skiing... :))
A wonderful composition, my friend, with nice natural lighting. Well done and TFS :)

Hi Tom
excellent use of shutter speed and aperture.the eyes are immediately drawn to the warm orange feet which are beautifully sharp. The blurring at wingtips help to add a touch of movement.
Great capture

This is just awesome Tom, I love the splash down effect on the water...

You pressed that button just at the right time... well done...

Nice and sharp, and love the colours on the Duck...

Keep up the good work..Kind Regards
Your buddy Dawn :-))

Hi Tom,
I hope you will share other shots from your 'hunts'! This one is beautiful, you did well to enhance the colours! Maybe the place of the duck is a bit too centred inside the frame, would be nice to see more to the right down corner (just an example), but since you had to be quick, it's understandable!
Excellent photo, show us more!!!

nice capture. TFS.

Hi ToM, excellent shot of the waterskier - and a well-trained waterskier too. Your colours and details are nice and sharp, and you caught him at just the right moment. I love those black curls on his tail! Mr Mallard looks superb. Well done,
Janice

Awesome capture Tom. I've been trying to get a similar shot for a while now without much success. I might have thought about flipping the image so that it goes left to right. That's the way we read and it's sometimes more pleasurable to view that way. Great image either way.
