The smaller one...

The smaller one... Smaller, because it isn't a "normal" locomotive, but a narrow-gauge. You know, most of the railways in Europe are standard-gauge (1435 mm), there's a few broad-gauge, mostly in the ex-Soviet countries (1609 mm), and everything, which is smaller than 1435 mm is called "narrow-gauge" (500, 600, 760, 900, 1000 mm). In Hungary 600 and 760 mm became the general narrow-gauge tracks.
"The Narrow-Gauge Railways of Nyíregyháza and Environs" is a 760 mm line and is exactly 102 years old. There's a main (51 km) and a side-line (15 km) remained from the originally 180 km long rail system. Photo was done on "Nyíregyháza Átrakó" terminus.
Locomotive is an Mk48.2000 type diesel-hydraulic loco, which was manufactured in Hungary in the early '60's and is working on most of the public 760 mm lines here.
Shutter speed was 1/769, PP: expo time (--), adaptive lighting (+), contrast (++), saturation (+), frames. |

Great one. Small but strong. Good composition and great colours. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Laszlo,
You have an interesting collection of railway engines!
This design I also know from Norway, but I haven't seen them for a while now...
Good point of view and a nice composition, good details!
Greetings,

Small, hát igen, de csak ami a sínt illeti! (: Ahhoz képest szép nagy darab, legalábbis ebből a szögből nézve. Ismét csodás színek, kiváló élesség és keretezés!
