This kind of butterfly is very common round here, but still you can see the beauty when you take a little time to observe them. :)

PP step by step :) in PS7
1. use lasso tool to catch the butterfly :))
2. decided to leave as it is... ;)
3. inversed the secection to get the background
4. play around with saturation
5. frame...
That's all..

A beautiful composition and good colors... :)

Just a word about the lens... I have one too, and I could not understand why my pics never had the perfect focus on them. The www.kenrockwell.com site explains it fairly well...
You have to shoot with this thing at F8 or smaller to get good focus. Since I started doing pics with the 18-70 mm, my pics improved a lot.
And dont be afraid to crank up the ISO to 1000. The are tools that can remove noise if necessary.

I like the details of the butterfly. Very good shot Tom. The colors are great.
