Here's a riddle for you! What's this?? :)
No..knowing the abbrev. what ЯR is for, won't help!:)
OK, here's the solution!
ЯR stands for "Rab Ráby" ("Prisoner Ráby" in English) and this is a close-up of a front door of the house he was living in since 1784!

According to the local tradition Mathias Raby was an official representative of the emperor Josef II. who had sent him to Szentendre to inspect the expenses of the magistracy and reveal any misuse of the town's money.
His reports had never got through to the emperor and Ráby had been imprisoned by the towns magistrates to hush up the plot.
Later he had to flee to France than to Strassbourg to find peace!
By his autobiographical writings and memoires he become a novel hero of a famous Hungarian novel "Rab Ráby" by Mór Jókai!

Quite an interesing story, isn't it? :))
And this is quite an old house from 1768 with this beautiful re-made front door!
N-joi! :)

What a nice work you did Tom. A very interesting note. We normally don't see those details, as photographer you stopped and took time fo focus those details of the front door, thanks Tom to share it with us.A good composition, an interesting lightning plus your well done frame , it gives us an excellent quality of photography.

Ha, Tom, my first thought was "well, at least someone on TL has a Rolce Royce" :))

When i scroll up-down i get that optical ray-effect. You cropped it masterly, preserving symetry. Maybe just that white thing under the arch can be removed. But then, what i like the most is the minimum intervention on the shot itself.

Great work Tom!!!

ComplimentS!

Sharp, good details and nice moody green. Well captured.

tres joli cadrage et belle texture de l'ensemble

Incredible story. Thanks for sharing that little ditty, I am richer for it. I know very little about Hungary. I must visit there one day. Anyway...

from the thumbnail I thought it was the metalic front boiler of a steam-engine. On opening I saw that it was wood, but never thought is was a door.

In photographi terms, the image in my view is captured very vell and nicely composed. You framed the geometry well.
