I call this photo Fire Sky because when I looked at the sky it looked like the clouds wear on fire.

I had problems putting the correct settings for my camer
I guess its because im not sure what to put it on
but I just fixed it in photoshop.
all i did was, I fixed the contrast and i used Burn tool all over the photo to make it more dark and make the clouds more like they wear on fire

hope you all like

Hi Palmi,

Hi Palmi,
The result with the intens colors is wonderful. The shapes of these clouds are very beautiful. I love the different colors and the mountains in the distance. I do see some barrel distortion in the horizon.

In regards of the proper setting of your camera, it all depends on what you want. I assume that you wanted to have a dark landscape base and only capture the light in the sky. In this case, there are two options you can do when taking the photo. The first is to underexpose your camera, since a camera tends to overexpose when aimed at a bright area. An other option is to use a grad ND filter. This will underexpose the sky area and still get a perfect exposed landscape, so not all details in the ground are lost. It is a personal choise on what you want.

There are also a few options that can be done in your PP work. One you already did. Another is to set some adjustment layers on curves and set your choise for the areas you want to change. An other option is to shoot in RAW, and convert to different exposures to JPEG and merge these by masking. These two options are a perfect methode if you are struggeling with bright and dark areas in a photo.

I hope this information can be useful.

TFS,
Niek

Hi Palmi,
this looks very nice. You captured the texture and colors of the sky very well.
