Sundays are good for trying out new things. Like how to improve one's scanning technique and the cleaning up that follows. This one has been sitting in an album for 16 years as a 10x15 cm print, and once again it represent our youngest son. As you may or may not know, Iceland gets its warm water for free from just below the surface of the island. This allows them to have indoor and outdoor pools all over the place, and this is part of an outdoor area with pools and slides 30 km outside Reykjavik. The water was probably warmer than the air - even on an August day it doesn't get that warm.

The PP process included a lot of steps, but the esential was to scan at 300 dpi and work on the original bmp file and size before resizing and saving as jpeg for the web.

Very dreamy shot you created! What I like best, is you shot this one at the right moment (or is your son sitting still here?)

The yellow gives a good focus and a nice contrast.

ah :))), C, I presume...
Its very well posted excellent quality

Wow! You've been to Iceland, lucky you and your family. Your son looks like he is having a fun time on the water slide. From the angle, it looks like you were also on the slide too, but I guess not with a camera in your hand. An older photo, yet it still looks like it was taken yesterday. Great work on the post processing.

It is my turn to add this to a theme for you. By the way, the theme got renamed by request to From Our Archives. (see Forum).

Beau contraste avec cette longue courbe jaune dans un décors naturel et l'enfant en pleine action! Bien vu!
Bye, Jacques

Hehe, this must bring more than a humurous view, truly wonderful memories for you my friend. Love the contrast between the strong colors of artificial world and the softness of the green nature behind. Was that watch warm water proof??

i wish i was there because i like slides and it is a nice picture btw ;-)

Very nice job on the scanning, Per. Until I read your note - and looked at the date you took it - it wasn't obvious that it was a scanned image. I really like the compo you used here. And the light in the background, partially shadowed by clouds... beautiful. TFS.

I could have said this was in tons of places other than Iceland! Though the landscape is a bit unusual!! I am glad that you pulled this out of the archives!

Real nice work Per. I love the background. The sutle light that moves across the hills is great.

Are you Icelandic Per? I have a few good friends from Iceland. They mostly live in Norway.

I am from an island myself. New Zealand. And I so miss the natural hot water pools...

My wife and I (She is Latvian) realy want to come to Iceland sometime. We now live in Latvia.

Well great work. Will have to go see what else you have in your photos. I only found this one by doing something I have never done before here. Looked under categories.
