Indeed, we would not think of it as a highway either, but then we do not have their harsh weather and we do have far more cars on the road

Back in the late 1960's Anneke highway one between Perth, Western Australia and Adelaide, South Australia was much the same. A well composed image, good layers of muted colours with the guide posts standing out proudly.

Beautiful landscape and picture from of this road. Yes that's funny that this is the No. 1 road in Iceland. I arrived home a week ago from Iceland, and we experienced how to drive on these roads.

Oh my Anneke,
I can't believe i 'll be driving this highway very soon myself, a pity they have not yet paved that road fully but from the view here it seems not too bad a stretch i think , well it will do !The worst of the highway system is in the interior !

Hoi Anneke,
Nou weet ik waarvoor ik moet gaan sparen....en reis naar IJsland. Alleen deze ene foto maakt dat ik er naar toe moet. Zo heerlijk open en desolaat en de ruigheid straalt er van af. Misschien dat sommige mensen dit soort weer niet mooi vinden. Het past bij het land en is perfect weer voor fotografie. Je compositie is super, vooral hoe de weg je mee neemt op een mini reis.

Hello Anneke !

My kind of touring (^_^). Love that road and mood. Specially with the little Falls in the background adding interest to it.

Not a place to get a sunburn with this wet and cold weather, but still well worthed to capture breathtaking and unique landscapes.

Great POV to capture the twisting shore road. well thought and presented Anneke.
