HI Kristoff
I got the same feeling seeing this as when I visited the thundra. Nothing but white everywhere and a horizon line.
In Dawson city Yukon I saw the sun go down and 6 minutes later it was back up again without haivng time to make the sky go dark.
So this is probably what you witnessed.
A very good shot with the wing hiding the brightest part.
