Steaming fields...

This picture is taken in the north of Iceland on one of the many thermal fields (Námafjall) with steaming mudpools near by Myvatn and the Krafla area. All the minerals in the earth give color to the sand and the warmth of the ground is cracking the field looking like a desert.

Hi Anna,
Great shot from Iceland, very typical, original Icelandic landscape. You managed to capture the soil and the steam well, while the dramatically-looking sky shows us the changable weather there. Good job! TFS.

Now, that's a place I would have liked to visit. I have seen some amazing photos of that unusual land. And this is no exception.
Very interesting to see the steam and the muddy dry ground - with no beauty in it at all.
And the heavy clouds give a very moody look to it too

Pitty the colors of the sand don't really come out Anna.
I know that it's absolutely YELLOW there!
Love the effect of the steaming holes and the cloudy sky above.
Good contrast.
