Heading out of Egilsstadir towards Lake Myvatn the ring road takes a short cut inland across the stark and barren highlands of the northeast interior .The bleak and desolate landscape here( Jokuldalsheidi ) is dotted with small lakes and low hills , it is a stark grey landscape most of the year , no farming here , well no-one in his right mind would settle down and be able to eke out a decent living in such a harsh environment ( it was constantly blowing and a refreshng 2' celsius in early September ) but still there is life in this tundra-like area , you'll be treated to a carpet of wildflowers in the spring and at the time of my visit cotton grass is the one type of flora that puts on a show , ,,, the sight of white cotton grass alongside the tarns and streams is something that'll make you stop , grab your camera and aim . I couldn't resist to take this scene ..I used a low angle for this one .
1/500 ISO 100 F/4 curves ,sharpened and framed,
Thank you for looking ,
Carol

Nice work on this Carol! I can see and feel the wind blowing here! The wind can really get rolling on the plains! Nice exposure, super sharp!
B-)
Linda

Interesting field. I would crop off some of the sky in order top put more emphasis on the field.

Hola Carol,
cada vez admiro mas tus trabajos...
preciosa vista y simpáticas formaciones vegetales que son movidas por el viento en ese hostil paraje,
saludos amiga

Hello Carol,

Nice moment captured. I can feel the wind and at the same time I feel I could touch the sky :) That's a lovely place and you presented it really well.
Thanks,
Iza

Bonsoir Carol,
Bravo! Annie
