Alone to rot......
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A car left to rot in a tall grass field .It seemed to me as if it had been lowered to its present spot from a helicopter as to not disturb or trample the grass around it ! Of course not, but i wondered how it ended up here, no visible tire tracks or road leading to it either to be seen anywhere near it , only a fence actually separates me from it not allowing me to investigate the vehicle 's interior .. Although i found this car interesting to picture i still question myself about the thousands of vehicles ( trucks , buses , you name it... ) left rusting away singly or in large groups here and there ( in owners' frontyards, open fields , you name it ) , these carcasses sit inanimately often in the best locations enjoying the best views humans can have , it was quite a bit of an ecological eyesore to me . Makes me wonder why they are not taken away to recycling plants or shipped somewhere else. Just my opinion ...
1/20 without a tripod , f/2.8 , iso 200, desaturation to B&W , sharpening and played with exposure to light up the scene , it's 8.30 pm , the sun had gone to sleep and the cloudy sky conditions did not help at all , ,
hope you like this , i think i do ,

Hi Carol,
Quite an impressive demonstraiton from Iceland. It's too bad they just put down this poor Lada Niva in the the middle of the field to rot. It ruins the environment and spoils the scene.
The photo itself is interesting and well-composed and despite the dim light conditions, you managed to take a fine, sharp image with the clouds well exposed. The black ad white stylie looks great here. Original composition.
TFS. Have a nice weekend!
Best regards,
Kristof
Very well delivered for the low light, I think you did a great job. I like the composition, and the b&w treatment was probably wise given the light and what I assume are quite subdued colours.
I almost wish abandoned cars contained a log book - the owner's last day, the events leading up to its eventual abandonment. :)

A really great subject!! It looks so lonely and the b&w adds to the mood. Very nice work! TFS
Hi Carol - good effort with the slow handheld shot.. Well composed. I think an increase in contrast would help a little and maybe the brightness just a tiny bit..
Great composition, nice work
