.... that's the question, eh Linda???

Well... I'd not recommend a bath here. So... NO, you cannot soak your feet in here! It's simply too hot!

What you are looking at here is Strokkur, the Icelandic geysir that sprays about every 5 minutes.
The hole is about one square meter, so not that big.
Here it has just sprayed and the hole fills up with water again. You can see the steam real well here; mind you the water tempratures rises up to 120ºC.
The shaft is pretty deep and when the water inside reaches 120ºC it turns into steam. As we all know steam takes up more space than water, so it needs to get out of the hole.
That's why we see Strokkur spray every 4 or 5 minutes... pressures are building up inside the earth and it needs to get out. Between 25 and 35 meters up in the air.......

More to follow soon...

:-) cheers,
Anneke

Hoi An,
Allereerst een leuke intro plaat met de Kapitein :-)
Gave plaat ook hier weer, al vind ik het touwtje wel enigszins irritant...maar opzich een mooie IJsland foto.
And what the heck I like to see Linda swimming in her bikini in this hot pool :-)

Have a nice day,

Cheers,
Sweety

Bonsoir Anneke,
sorry, I think you have mean well (I saw that you have prepared for Shelby), but I spend much of this bath feet away.
I think is good for cooking hard-boiled eggs certainly very rapid but we must find them because projecting into the air by the geyser to 30 metres, landing must be tough.
Excellent notes, and joke for your title lolll.
Amitiés, Corinne

I can almost feel the heat coming off the screen! Nice capture of the steam rising from the water, with superb control of the exposure to maintain the details despite the sun and reflective surfaces.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
