Hello to all!
Me and my friend Svetlana(http://www.treklens.com/members/The_Night_Owl)went for a photo shoot the day before yesterday, because we got our 50mm lenses:) Im so happy with the quaility of this lens:)
This photo was taken at Portarlington train station. I think Svetlana is a great model, she has ideas of how to pose:)
Thanks for looking:) |

Althought an interesting idea, this shot suffers of many technical flaws...such as blue cyan cast. Lack of separation in tones, and also a lack of sharpeness and definition, in the forground.
As the pose...well done, althought it could be more convincing...but the title clash with what's shown. Maybe waiting for a ride, would have be more appropriate..))
Hi Sophia
Well we all have to start somewhere with our photography and I think you're doing a good job. The pose is definitely fashion/editorial rather than 'waiting for a train' but that's an accepted style all the same.
The location of course is a photographer's favourite, most portfolios will feature a railway track or station shot, and for good reason - they are engaging and interesting.
The light here was good, nicely diffuse, although personally I would have chosen to use portrait orientation, and include less of the setting and more of the model. Changing that orientation and moving in closer would also have allowed more striking use of that shallow field of focus allowed by the lens' wide aperture - and so greater separation of the subject.
Personally I don't have an issue with 'colour cast' as mentioned by Denis - photography allows any number of colour casts, from black and white to super-saturated, although it can be beneficial to make sure your WB setting is appropriate to the light.
