St. Dominic's Abbey
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A bit of history:
Dominic's Abbey lies to the southeast of the Rock of Cashel and was founded in 1243 by Archbishop David Mc Kelly and was dedicated to St. Dominic. David Mc Kelly is first mentioned as Dean of Cashel and then as a Dominican Friar. He became Bishop of Cloyne and in 1238 he was appointed Archbishop of Cashel. He died on 2nd March 1253 and was buried in the Chapel of the Apostles on The Rock.
About the photo:
it was taken last sunday in Cashel. I went there with my husband and our friends to take some pictures of the Rock of Cashel, but unfortunately it was closed by the time we got there. So we were walking around the castle and found this abbey behind the hill.
Maybe you will say that the photo is overdone, but i like this saturated colours, i think it brings this old abbey to life. |

Hi Sveta,
This is a nice composition with blue sky in the background. The ruins of the castle is still standing with head high up! I like this.
Hi Sveta!
Like the composition a lot!
Bright and strong colours.
TFS.
