Spectacular Stained Glass Window
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Though the rotating and re-dimensionalizing of this picture detracted somewhat from the picture's original sharpness, this is still quite an impressive and indeed beautiful work of art. It is located in a side chapel, in Callan, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Depicted in this stained glass is the Blessed Edmund Rice, who founded the international non-profit non-governmental organization The Christian Brothers of Ireland back in the early 19th century. Beside him I believe is an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so Edmund is in good company...
In 1996 Edmund Rice was beatified, a procedure in which a pope recognizes an individual as a saint, based on the occurrence of a miracle, verified by the Roman Catholic Church.
So it is only befitting that he has had such a beautiful stained glass window made in his honor.
No tripod or filter. Flash fired. Picture resized and rotated. No frills otherwise. No modification or qualitative pp work. Very pleased with the result. |
