Isolated from the windowframe, this sign seems to float in midair. If you feel like it, just jump ;-)
Picture taken aboard the "Lady Ardilaun" crossing Lough Corrib on the retour from Ashford Castle which can still be seen in the far distance. The boat is named after the wife of Lord Ardilaun who had the castle built in the 18th century. The castle is well known through the film "The quiet man" with John Wayne which was filmed here and for the numerous celebreties that stayed here (or organised events such as the marriage of Pierce Brosnan). It nowadays is a luxury hotel, far over my budget, but the park around the castle is free to wander about.
It was a lovely day which holds sweet memories (did you ever get a sunburn in Ireland ? I did !)
(The posting of this shoebox-picture was inspired by Ana's contribution of an unusual view from a ship.)

Almost no PP, just ran the picture through NI and sharpened the letters that were not entirely in focus.

Hi Walter,
Too funny! I would think in a boat, it would be obvious where the exits are--over the sides! But, it doesn't seem very comforting to know you have to jump into the water. It's good you got this exit at this angle to see the turbulence of the water. It's like taking a danger from another danger. Brrr...great capture. And well seen.

If there's one side of the boat from where I wouldn't jump, it's the stern, Walter. Don't underestimate the power of the propellers... Anyway, this is nicely seen. A floating sign. TFS.

funny shot and well captured. It looks like it is floating on the water.TFS

This is way cool, Walter. Ijust hope they would shut the motors first. I really think this is a great find and well taken !
