Background? Might have been exciting in reality but in two dimensions - confusing.
Core subject is also centred in the frame.
This could have been a better experiment for you if the b/g was 'textured' but a plain colour and the mask in more of a close-up. Then much stronger if the mask was lying on a thirds intersection?
Ooooh - a tough one, Claudio! It gets better, though. See you tomorrow?
