I took this shot in Alberobello, the Trulli's capital. The Trullo is a typical ancient Apulia's building made with a very poor material (small pieces of stones) without using any kind of lime to connect them. They were normaly erected in the countryside as refuge for the peasant. But it is very curoius that the whole historical city centre of Alberobello is made out of Trullos. There is a reason to this: they were built in order to dodge the house taxes. In fact people used smoke sign to break the news when tax collectors were approacing the city. So people could literally uncover the building since, as I said, a dry-stone tecnology was used, and then build it again!

Here I wanted to show the beauty of this domes. As Le Corbusier said, Architecture is the wise, magnificent, rigorous game of the volumes assembled in the light!

P.S. As some of you pointed out, there are some ugly wires in the lower part. So I made a workshop in order to delete them. Thanks for having highlighted it!

Pryvitanne Dario!
I like your photo! ALL made well! I made frame for your photo:)

This is a great, sharp, and unique image, Dario. The only think that's a bit distracting are the wires going across the bottom. Otherwise, it's a great shot with a nice note to go with it. I like the nice tight crop and the lighting is very good, too. Well done!

Superb! Love the architecture and the comp on the 4 towers. Good work! Too bad there are electical wires. The blue sky is superb! And the texture is stunning! Great work with your FZ-20, I have the same :)

Cheers, Yan :)

ps: ws: to my taste, no need to frame ;)

Well seen and well taken excepting the wires...

Hi Dario,
Architectural details are one of my favourite photographic subjects. Your graduating perspective highlights the slightly different conical shapes which are so important in creating interest in an image. That clear blue sky is perfect too. I don't mind seeing the wires...they are there so what can you do!
Best wishes,
Celina

Again, you have a very nice architectural shot here Dario and your write-up is very interesting. I specially like the one without the wires. It takes special skills to do this dry-stone technigue.

Hello Dario! I just loved so much those Trulli when I was in Alberobello, you've caught very well the essence of these beautiful constructions! Well done and thanks! I had not enough time to go as far as Lecce on that last trip but I'll surely go next time! :-)
