tfs, so glad I'm not the only one, it is good to be different. Why do all the 'done' things? I prefer to come home with images that tell and show the 'essence' of a country and, that, indeed is usualy in smaller things.
Btw, in some cities in Belgium, like Bruges, these are still put up...

Hi Pierre
Jackon Pollock meets urban street art? I like the color, abstraction & sharpness. Bon travail!
The drama here is of course that the announcement will also be thrown in pieces in some weeks, or covered by similar and competetive ones. Like death-advertisements in papers will be used for packing dead fish.
Wonderful transitoriness in your picture Pierre.

Hi Pierre,
it's very strong photo. And sad. I love the way you caught it. I'd probably pass by this announcement - in my country they are also quite common, so more difficult to people like me to notice...
We get used to things, don't we?

Toutes nos condoléances a cette inconnue Napolitaine …
Toutes nos félicitations au photographe qui nous l’a fait découvrir …

Wow, this is amazing, Pierre. What a gem!!! I have never seen anything like this before. You have done well to capture it too. I love the background with all the torn and worn posters - then you have this plain stark announcement. Excellent composition.

hi pierre,
those death-announcements are also common here in austria, mostly pinned to an old tree near the cementary or at a site in a frame. didn't know they have them in italy. so intersting note and fine catch!

I like. Many resistances. The rest of the color against the
announcement... Seen very well. Good composition. Great document.

That is new to me too. The announcement is pasted on a roll-up door, when the door opens it wll tear up the paper and it will look like the rest that has been pasted earlier. Nice catch and TFS.
thank you for your comments on my photo, "California Coast v1".

That place didn't have just anouncements for funerals, I hope ? I guess not, some of the remnants are quite colourful. Well seen, Pierre. TFS.
Oh, in Belgium we don't do it like this, we print obituaries in the local papers and we drop letters in the mailboxes in the neighbourhood.
Surprenant comme mode...annoncer les morts! Je n'ai jamais vu ca nulle part! Image tres particuliere, coloree et des plus interessante! El cette annonce, tres unique en soi,en fait une image documentaire des plus speciales! Bien vu! Michel

I like to see the everyday things too, but I can't say I've seen a poster like this! Poor Teresa, aged 83... I don't think I'd like my name plastered on a wall like this.
Good find Pierre, well done.

Bravo Pierre pour cette superbe photo. Après les tourments de la vie, cette dame a trouvé l'apaisement... Cette photo montre exactement la même chose à travers ces affiches déchirées et l'annonce de décès propre et sobre.
Amicalement
Gilles
I like this shot!!!
It is so clear.
I like colours.
Composition is very well captured!!!
Congrats,

Poor Suzanne! I travel with someone who's just like you!....gotta keep moving!!! Gotta see everything! I'd kind of like to just sit and absorb the atmosphere sometimes! :)))
But, I do agree with your assessment of travelling. I like to look for all the little cultural differences also, and this is a great example! I had no idea that some countries do this. Nothing wrong with it - it's just different!
Thanks for sharing this, Pierre! I love dropping the little bits and pieces of things I've learned here into conversations - this one will come up this week, I'm sure!
Take care,
Gayle :)

Hello Pierre,
i can understand what you said about what you like when travelling - same with me (I always pretend to faint when it takes too long in the museums) - it's the little details like the one you show here that makes travelling so interesting. This is new to me as well, never heard of death-announcemnts being posted like this. Thanks for this contribution, really interesting!
greetings

Great observation Pierre, thanks carrying it to us...
What is here so new and alive but already dead, what looks like a worn out and lifeless still alive and stays there..

Hi Pierre, they couldn't have put a death announcement in dedlier place, and you caught the desolation of the desolation in a beautiful way.

Very good daily life shot. Yes, you can find those announcements in the Mediterranian Europe and the way you caught it emphasises the feeling of everything just passing by, as well as life. The show must go on.
Great shot, you really showed us nice details from the vacation, congratulations!
