Warm colours of Bologna

Last weekend I had a trip to Bologna in Italy. The weather was gorgeous and took the change to visit the old city centre of this wonderful town. No strait line to see in the buildings. It look like if every single wall was leaning :-)
Anyway I took this picture in the atrium of the Sant Dominico cathedral. The warm red colours are very attractive particular against the steel blue sky.

Just an impression which I enjoyed.....

I like the composition and sharpness here Hans.. The tower is well frames by the arch in shadow and the colours are rich.

It's a beautiful city - I used to do layovers here in my last life.. Got some transparencies of the place that I need to scan..

Cheers menheer

David

Hello Hans,

Lovely composition with the buildings relating to each other in perfect harmony.
The colours and the details of the building are well recorded.
The arch makes a very interesting frame.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Well, hello again my friend. And here you are in Bologna - I wish I'd been there too Hans.

What beautiful old buildings and the brown / orange brickwork looks quite unusual. And you have composed it really well looking up to the steeple from under the archway too... Bravo!

PS I'm off to Waiheke Island tomorrow - I'll take a few photos for you Hans. It should be a hot sunny day too...

Hallo Hans,

Mooie combinatie van gebogen lijnen met daartussen de kerktoren tegen de blauwe lucht, een mooi geheel in warme kleuren!
Groetjes, Marga

Hi Hans,
Personally I didn't really like the town of Bologna, when I visites it in the summer, probably too tired after a full day of driving. :)
But you managed to bring us the bright and colourful part of the city, the warm tones of the bricks are impressive, enlightment is beautiful and the POV you chose is quite interesting. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hallo Hans.
Mooie foto van het stadsbeeld van Bolonga.
Echt Italiaans. Als ze daar , net zo als hier, uitscheiden met naar de kerk gaan, is het einde van de wereld in zicht.!
Prachtige compositie met lekker warme tinten.
Prima scherpte zonder overdrijving.
Groeten van Jan

Olá Master Baron :o),

Hallo Hans,
Mooie architectuurfoto met opvallend mooie warme kleuren en een dito compositie.
Vooral de combinatie met de zwarte boog (van een poort?) doet het heel goed.

TFS en groet uit Renesse,
Adri

That is ONE great blue sky Hans! Really nice work on this. The sky is really nice and smooth. I find the shadow at the bottom distracting thought, not sure about a solution for that. Maybe get up earlier? HAHAHA! Hope you had a great time. We were naked without you!

Yes, I agree. The colors are very attractive and what makes this shot. Sometimes clouds can be interesting, but for photos, I love the cleaness/smoothness of a clear sky. Very nicely composed shot!

Hi Hans,
I think it would be impossible to find you at home - you are all around the world so many times, that's wonderful!
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Italy, Bologna is interesting and you captured a beautiful place. Warm light and a blue sky, you are so lucky ... Coldness, snow and grey sky, that's what we have here right now in Bavaria - so don't plan to visit Munich in these days ;-)

Mooie compositie.
groet,
Joop!

sir i love the black silhouette in your frame, which means your shooting angle was well thought out.

the colors, as you say, are amazing and contrast well against each other.
