The Colosseum or Coliseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre[1] (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium), is the largest amphitheatre built in the Roman Empire. Originally capable of seating 50,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial combat. It was built in the 70s and completed in 80 CE.
The Colosseum is located just east of the Roman Forum.

Rich strong colours, that's what caught my eye first!

No matter how many photos I see of this amazing place (and I've never seen it in real life) I never get tired of it.
It's an amazing achievement - it would be quite impressive now, it's just incredible for the time it was built.
Sad that so many suffered and died within its arena, but architecturally a true wonder of the world.

Beautiful colours. Positioning is unusual, as most Colosseum shots are from the opposite viewpoint. Strong colours (did you enhance these?). One minor comment around perspective - perhaps a little tweak to make the sides of this magnificent building vertical would improve the shot even further?
