[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note


The Raganella is a particular Anura. The tip of his fingers is equipped with characteristic swelling stickers shaped disc. To strengthen taken also contributes a sticky substance which is secreted when the muscles are under tension. The animals are able to climb superbly and adults live mostly on shrubs, bushes and trees, which are well mimetizzati and their protruding eyes have a very good observation point. As shown in the photo,during the daytime, the Raganella so lazy nap on the leaves and branches. May be exposed to the sun directly because, unlike other species of amphibians, thanks to a particular skin secretion and their posture is less subject to dehydration. At night they hunt for insects, spiders and snails.



La Raganella è un anuro particolare. La punta delle sue dita è munita di caratteristici ingrossamenti adesivi a forma di disco. A rafforzare la presa contribuisce inoltre una sostanza appiccicosa, che viene secreta quando i muscoli sono in tensione. Gli animali sono così in grado di arrampicarsi superbamente e da adulti vivono perlopiù su arbusti, cespugli e alberi, dove sono ben mimetizzati e i loro occhi sporgenti godono di un ottimo punto di osservazione.Come dimostra la foto,durante il giorno le raganelle sonnecchiano pigramente sulle foglie e sui rami. Non disdegnano esporsi direttamente al sole poiché, a differenza di altre specie di anfibi, grazie a una particolare secrezione cutanea e alla loro postura sono meno soggette alla disidratazione. Di notte vanno a caccia di insetti, ragni e lumache.
