24 hours in Milan - just enough time to nip into the city centre and fire a few shots off... This is in a mall near the central plaza. As is the norm in Italy most of the architecture (old and new) is spectacular.

This is an HDR image, composed of 5 shots of differing exposures (as you can see by the ghostly images of people walking around). The saturation was also given a slight boost.

Nicely done David, for 5 shots you manage to get the good result it seems like long exposure but the details are great. Well done...

Regards...Buddy

Hi David,
Superb perspective! Excellent sharpness and contrast. I like the perspective distortion here the 10mm Sigma is doing well here, I'm looking for such a lens can you recommend this Sigma?
Anyway a wonderful posting David!
Hans

Hi David,
Beautiful composition,good perspective,very sharp.
Best rgards,
Ralf

Hi David,
Not bad for a Nikon LOL
Nice work, the colours and details are spot on, I like how merging the images has on the people, it gives it more of a busy feel to the place, I like the way that the wide angle of the lens has pulled the buildings in, I might have a play later when on the main PC to see what it looks like with this corrected, if I do I will post as a workshop for you, what software do you use for your HDR as it's something that I have not played with yet.
Well done
Regards Andy

David,
A good HDR - in that it doesn't look like one - just a regular long exposure photo. Teriffic view with the Sigma 10-20 - I have one of these, but have barely un-boxed it yet!

colin

Hi David..great combination shot...interesting perspective with excellent details and light.

Roger

Aww this is GREAT David! And I am a huge fan of HDR! Love this super wide view, what a gorgeous place, love the details, so much to look at here! The reflections are great on the floor and I love the blur of the crowd shopping, amazing!

It's a great lens eh David??
I must say that I really think the effect of the lensdistortion is funny. the walls all lean towards the middle.
I like the "people" in the image... or rather.. the "ghosts".
I think this image is really sharpand the HDR is executed really well!

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi David,

You've got the HDR technique down my friend! Absolutely beautiful job of combining the photos. The dome of this place is magnificent, not to mention the architecture. Beautiful coloring, reflections, and lighting. This is a photo that one looks at again and again!

ciao, Lisa

Great processing and HDR work.

Brilliant David. A great idea that has worked really well in this situation. Good use of our favourite lens as well. The details in the buildings and the windows is fantastic. Regards, TW

Beautiful window light. Nice archetecture.

Hi David,
A shot that reminds me of my 17mm Tamron lens ( before i turned digital...) which i had on almost all the time when aiming at tall buildings etc... i miss it a lot ,of course the distortion was obvious but as here it's all the more beautiful when done in the right way ,the HDR technique is of great use here , it sort of gives 'relief ' to your composition,
good work ,
Carol

Amazing shot. Great architecture and perspecive. wonderful composition also.
greetings,

figen

Your position is extremely well seen and chosen David,it gives a good overall vieuw of the arcade.
What I like most is the gate in the back from where we can even look to the outside world!
Good control of the difficult light inside.
Funny because in Den Haag we have a mall pretty simulair to this one.

Excellent result of your post processing work, David.
The blur of the peolpe makes it even more stronger.
Complements.!

ciao Davide!

Wonderful perspective of this interesting place.

Hello David!
Excellent detail and clarity and very good point of view!
Beautiful effect and great PP work!
Best regards!

I have to say this is probably the best HDR image I've yet seen on TL.

It harnesses the merits of the technique, but avoids it's worst excesses.

I have just started to experiment with HDR, but it's clear to me that you have to ask yourself, "does this look realistic?" at every stage. Otherwise it all ends up looking like an over worked, metallic, acid trip.

This shot is the perfect example of what can be acheived with a little time and care.

How do your HDR's blow up?... I find mine to be very gritty and soft when enlarged....(I'm using Photomatix b.t.w.)

Hello David! Very interesting architecture. Original POV and composition. Good lightness. Very good capture. Original shot. Good luck!

amazing stitches and wide interpretations in your products...magnificent bro!
cheers!

very wide, excellent details, fine brightness, this shot shows well the beauty and magnificence of this place

Hi David, great work! The contrast between the perfect sharpness of buildings and the blurred person is beautiful! Excellent light too.
ciao, cinzia

Hello David.
This is great piece of photography, which made me visit this gallery during my short stay in Milan.
Unfortunately my photos are not even half that good, and I won't say it's just because of weather that I had have.
Great use of wide angle lens, excellent technique.
