This picture was just taken a few blocks from the Duomo di Milano, just a simple picture of woman, who I randomly asked if I could take a picture of, she said yes, even though I asked her to look somewhat towards the sun.
I also took portraits of others, was very fascinated by the different looks and diversity of the people there. There were :beautiful Filipino-, Egyptian-, Peruvian-Italians etc and native Italian people.
Any way this was taken with a film camera using the grainiest black and white Ilford film. The image was a bit overexposed so I layered it using the "overlay" mode in photoshop with an image of textured and crumpled white paper to give it balance. Peace, Rodney

The effect of the paper is really great! this could easily be an advert of some kind.
And then there is the portrait of this lady. I agree with you: she is absolutely beautiful. The B/W is very strong and I like the graininess as it's part of the whole.
Lovely work!
Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Rodney,
At first glance this looks like a reflection in a window with blinds in, great pp work to get the effect and nice photograph to start the process with. Unusual asking the subject to look into the sun but you have acheived the desired effect. Cheers

Hello Rodney,
An interesting experiment which has turned oe into something extraordinarily interesting.
The graininess suggests a newspaper photograph whilst the crumpled paper adds movement; to me it appears as if the wind is blowing her hair across her face.
A beautiful face with an expression that is difficult to interpret - that adds to the interest!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
