Livigno is a town in the the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy, Italy, located in the Italian Alps.

Livigno is located 1,816 metres above sea level. Livigno's main river is called Aqua Grandaor Spöl. Trepalle, a frazione in the municipality of Livigno, is considered Europe's highest inhabited parish. Livigno was once a traditional and cultural village. Livigno is one of the few Italian villages which do not belong to the drainage basin of the Mediterranean Sea but to the Black Sea basin. A part of the old village was completely destroyed in the 1960s by the creation of a reservoir, the Lago di Livigno.

Lago di Livigno or Lago del Gallo is a reservoir in the Livigno valley. The lake is mostly in Italy whereas the Punt dal Gall arch dam is crossed by the border with Switzerland .
The lake's surface area is 4.71 km².

The reservoir has a capacity of 164 million m³. Its minimum and maximum water levels above sea level are at 1,700 metres and 1,805 metres respectively. Since its construction, this lake had been off-limits for any activity, such as wind-surfing or rowing, until the summer of 2005, when Italy's National Rowing team was authorized to train on the lake.

bellissima foto, grande POV, nitidezza e colori OK, se propio vogliamo cercare il pelo nell'uovo, trovo leggermente rumoroso il cielo, ma non toglie la bellezza a questa foto.

This is stunning scenery the colours are great details sharp and the dof nice. The mountains are magnificent the textures thrown up by the vegitarion and rocks is brilliant well done.

Hi Adrian,

Impressive reservoir and landscape! Great view of this vista from this POV. Good sharpness and handling of light. It seems the water level in this reservoir was very low judging from the high water mark.
