This is a replica. The real one is inside in the Accademia in Florence with the six famous “Prisoners” - the unfinished sculptures that Michelangelo did not want to complete. This clone sits outside in the Michelangelo square overlooking the city from the other side of the Arno river. They do not allow pictures inside the Accademia of course, so I could not get a picture of the real David. It is undoubtedly the most impressive statue that I have ever seen, completely living up to the hype. What is incredible about David is that Michelangelo did not use a live model or did not make a plaster cast to make the colossal statue. Took him 18 months to finish the job. Absolute genius – no question about that.

Hi Sunil

A good capture of the famous David sculpture. I had no idea he was green. This must be a bronze copy. Good sharpness & symmetry with the lower 2 statues. Tfs!

Hi Sunil,
The replicae looks just as good in your shot. Curious but pleasing greenish glow on the staute, perhaps relfection of the sun. Well com;soed too with that amount of sky and the tree in the b/g.

Subashini
