Just the frontage of an old, neglected bar in the center of La Thuile, a famous ski resort in the south-west of Valle D'Aosta, Italy.
La Thuile is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of Italy. It has about 700 inhabitants.
La Thuile is situated in the Alps at the extreme north-east of the country, close to the French alpine town of La Rosière. La Thuile's business come largely from the tourism in winter (for the winter sports) and summer (hikers). The town is fairly small but has a few shops, restaurants and hotels.
La Thuile is fairly well known in particle physics community for an annual international winter physics conference hold there.
Coal mining (antracite) has been a big resource in the area until 2nd world war, many diggings and old mining structures can be seen around the village.
From La Thuile a road goes up to the Little St Bernard Pass, which links Italy to France via La Thuile, La Rosière and Bourg Saint Maurice in the Isère Valley.
