On our last day in Rome we had a couple of hours to fill before catching the train to the airport. We decided to visit the Roman National Museum in the Terme di Diocleziano.

One of the first things we saw there was this cat... a little like the beggar of my previous shot. The poor thing missed a big part of its nose, undoubtedly lost it in a fight among rivals.

He walked slowly by, quitly "crying" for attention the way only cats can... very arrogantly ;o)).

I liked the contrast between the cat and the ancient pillar behind it.

Tech talk

Straightened slightly.

Croppity-crop.

Downsized for TL as per usual.

Enlarged canvas to create a small white border.

Still sorting out my shots from the trip, so little time for TL :-(

a cute portrait of this 'philosophical' looking feline, nice light, interesting, ciao, M, (*_*)

Hi Franky,

Nicely captured, composed and exposed.

A natural blur other then a p.s. blur would be effective. If I'm wrong in judgement, I'm sorry. However, my judgement is based on the blur just to the left and behind the cat and the right of the cat, which looks processed, more blur on the left then the right. If it's camera, hmm, interesting.
At F4, excellent for portraits, the background blur would look even and the cat would be almost 3D.
Having said that, I like the image, well done. ;) :)

I'm in the process of moving my family down country, I've been accepted to College. Rush, rush, rush to get things packed and moved. I'll be in and out.

merhaba franky
beautiful lovely picture.beautiful light.
best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

Hi FRank,
Very nice shot, even though a little sad, because of that nasty wound the poor cat sustained, but that's life. Excellent detail, very good low level composition and well balanced lighting.
Being in Rome, I see this cat as a gladiator!lol!!
Vassilis

Hi Frank,
Very beautiful composition of this poor little cat with this damaged nose. I like the lighting and the semi-blurred background. Very well done.
Luc

Hi Frank,
I can't believe it, you were unfaithful to Dingo, a photo of a cat !!??? ;))
Beautiful portrait of this Italian wise cat ... I am not a fan of cats photos but I must say it is a successful one.
Sylvie

Hi Frank,

I guess that must have been one hell of a left hook to knock it nose off!!! Still, he does look mean with that don't mess with me look! Good DOF & contrast with the piller in the bg.

Well seen & composed

They build them tough in Rome! He is sitting there so nicely for you Frank. Like ths old fighters in the past in the Colosseum, waiting their time, for honour or for death! I could cry for his poor nose. What does Dingo think of him. It's a great shot, thank you,
Janice

Ough, what a nasty cut !
Interesting, special, excellent sharpness and DOF, fine cropping, you did it all Frank.
