Probably one of the most photographed monuments in Rome, if not THE most photographed ;o).

So, for starters, I tried to show something you don't see too often on the web... a view on the topmost statues. And hey, I love that deep blue sky... August has been terribly grey and rainy in Flanders :-(

Some more views coming up...

I had mixed feelings about this diagonal crop, so I'd like to read your opinion on that.

Tech talk

Croppity-crop.

Resized for TL: 72 » 1200 dpi, 3302 » 2200 » 1400 » 700 pixels height, USM 85%, 0.3, 0, 1200 » 96 dpi.

Sorry for not being so active on TL. Next week our builders will come, and we're terribly busy with the preparations... And after a hard day's work, I'm quite busy sorting out my shots from Rome and preparing them for a slide show...

The diagonal crop works well with the picture in my opinion. It balances the viewers line of sight from the upper right to the lower left. Equal emphasis was given on all the statues because of the great exposure and use of available light.

Great photo and thanks for sharing.

Pierre

Salut Frank,

Very nice titled composition with the perfect blue sky, Frank. Very good idea to look up to photograph this Fountain as it is so full of people around it that I don't think you can take anything else. Very nice light as well. Well done!

P.S. BTW, you will be happy to know that I have finally cleaned my mirror & sensor. I have not taken any pictures since then but it does look better. To tell you the real truth I was too chicken to do it so Pierre is the one who did. I think he did a great job!

Hi Frank,
that's perfect - this phantastic light and the blue sky - the architecture, a phantastic shot.
I guess you had a wonderful time in Rome, thanks for sharing those moments with us, bye and ceep cool, no hectic! Relax!
Bye and greetings

Nice composition, and good use of the diagonal. Reminds me of one of the shots from Rome I posted last year. Just a pity that the front of the monument is over-exposed. But, good points for not taking the usual shot of this fountain!

Hi Frank,

All looking at the pictures of the series: Fontana di Trevi

to see that closely everything. it is fabulous.
Congratulations for the pictures

Wow Frank! This isn't the usual POV of this place. Great shot! I always like these diagonal looking-up-to-the-sky images like this. And the statues and carvings are certainly emphasised this way. I've not see it like this before. I took two photos front on, and that was that, so I am enjoying this one. Thank you
Janice

Groetjes!
Annelies

Hi Frank,
Excellent POV and diagonal composition. The exposure is great and the detail and colors very good.

P.S. Out of smilies, I'll be back.

Hi Frank,

Roome is a beautiful city with excellent architecture and you have captured this monumnet very well. TFS
