[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My friend and I were eating lunch by the cathedral at the Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles), when these birds kept coming over to beg. So we started tossing them cheese balls, but the balls were too large for them to pick up easily. One bird would pick a cheese ball up and be immediately surrounded by other birds wanting to steal it. The bird who had possession of the ball would try to get away, but he would drop the ball, and another bird would sntch it up! They chased each other all over in this way!

This photo was a bit of an accident because I was trying to take a video clip but I accidentally left my camera set on regular still picture mode. So the composition is more like the way I do my videos, because I like to zoom way in and pan to get the action. But I love the image of the two beaks stuck into the cheese ball as the pigeons fight for possession!

My friend and I called it "Pigeon Soccer," although since they are Italian pigeons it should really be "Pigeon Football."

interesting photo.
This is not easy!
Pigeons normally make such dull photos.
Great job.
I would have prefered if the pigeon's head wasn't cropped off though, and using a flash could have helped eliminate the shadows.

thanks for sharing
