I took this shot over a bridge near San Marco. I have nice fotos in Venice but it's uncomparable when you come & see it personally.
"A very familiar place.... history says that when the criminals were taken to their new cells from the palace this bridge was used to walk them. If you look at closely, there were some vents on both sides of the center and it was the last time the criminals were able to see the outside."
-DAM
"A wonderful view of Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs)! ...it is named so because the prisoners would sigh when they saw the world for the last time through the small windows."
-Evgenia

What a beautify shot, I love the lines and clarity, the gondola really makes this it just feels like you are on board and traveling with them:)

Nicely done. I agree with you... you have to be there to really appreciate the city.

Hello, Freddie,
A wonderful view of Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs)! As DAM said, it is named so, because the prisoners would sigh when they saw the world for the last time through the small windows.
I like the position of the gondola and the perspective of the canal.
Regards, Evgenia
