| Carnival began last Sunday in Venice and the costumes, as usual, were amazing. These two looked great in front of the Basilica San Marco around the the time "La Colombina" the Angel of Venice flew down into the square at noon. It's tough to take a "clean" photo in the Piazza without all kinds of tourists, construction site covers and flagpoles. |

Great colors and nice composition. Having Piazza San Marco in the backround is a nice touch.
The colors on this one are even better!!! Great pic. in front of the S. Marcos church. Very well composed.

Ah yes, I remember it well. I took a similar photo on the following day. The way I got round the poles and tourists was to get in close and aim to get one pole behind each person. This also has the advantage of getting good light and St Mark's in the background.
I like the richness of this picture.
