Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled to the Island of Elba in 1814. He escaped from there on 26 February 1815, and returned to the mainland of France.
This photograph was taken from the garden terrace of the villa occupied by him during his exile. |

Hello, Peter.
This is a lovely clear sharp picture. Very nice indeed. Did you do much processing of this - Neat Image, perhaps?
You know, it's terrible that I had to look at the map (you must have added co-ordinates to your data) to see where Elba actually was - I knew about Napoleon and the palindrome but not the geography.
Best Wishes,
John.
Hi Peter, wonderful shot you have here, I like the way how the light house guides ones eyes into the distance, the composition is also good but because you took this photo late in the day it became quite disturbed by the hazy atmosfere, had you taken it in early morning or just before sunset i am sure it would have given more impact with the nice colours and so on, as it is, it looks flat in the afternoon light, don`t take my critique to heart I`m only being constructive and if you know anything that I don`t please let me know, regards J.P.Salas
