My first attempt on Flaminia's glamourous shot!
I noticed she is also good in posing, as well as in eye contact with camera, so...

Tech: simply B/W conversion

In the workshop, the original shot in color.

All feedbacks and advices, will be warmly welcome! :-)

Hi Antonella,

Glad to see a new shot of yours. Nice posed model, good lighting althought the highlight seems a bit harsh. Whould love to see the colour version. The exposure seems right. Well done.

Ciao dear Antonella.
Again a lovely pose of Flaminia. She's getting a PRO, haha
I saw the ws in Colour, Thats my favorit, as life is very colourfull too, right ?
I think you used the incomming daylight ? Try to avoid the overexposure, maybe by covering the light by window curtans ?
Have a lovely weekend, you both.
Ciao ciao from Jan

Hello Antonella,
I like both pose and composition!
The expression is well captured, and the model is very photogenic...
Personally I may have tried to soften the light a tad as you're very close to OE in certain parts of her face!
Greetings,
Pablo -

In general I prefer colour shots over b&w, Antonella. But here I definitely prefer the b&w version... Flaminia's left hand side and neck are burnt out by the heavy light. I think you should have underexposed a stop or so to avoid that.
But, as said, in the b&w the overexposure isn't so noticeable.
Sharpness is spot on, and your daughter-model is a very nice young woman to look at ;o).
The backdrop works well, except for the dark spot (is it a text?) on the left, near the edge...
Anyway, nice work. TFS

ciao Marco

Hi Antonella

I love B&W photography and your picture here looks just perfect in black and white.
Excellent portrait.

TFS ;)

Bonjour Antonella,
Très joli portrait et composition de ce cliché, Excellente prise de vue et contraste sur le noir et Blanc du portrait, jolie modèle et détails de netteté, Mes compliments
Michel

Wonderfully captured portraiture Antonella!... Love the way the model seemed to communicate through her eyes. Would have located the subject a little bit more to the right of the frame for an assymetric kind of balance but thats just my 5 cents worth... all in all, Good job!

Cheers
Ian

Hi Antonella,
Beautiful and cheerful b&w portrait,
Great shot,Simply outstanding!

Thanks for your kind words on my "MY ADOPTED SON"

Hi Antonella,
Very nice and glamorous portrait. I like the black and white treatment, it adds a little mystery and sensuality to her.
Good lighting, you handled it very well.
Pete.

hello Antonella

I am not sure what would Alt+ctrl+cancel would do, but I know how a spacebar works :) Really a nice pair of names!

Very lovely B&W portrait shot, she is attractive model, and a good pose. Perhaps my only comment is to avoid center spot of photo for your subject.

I thank you for recall of shy girl smile at Nabula market :). How I wish that girl can be my daughter.

tfs, bill

Ola Antonella,
Bonito retrato bonito p&b,boa iluminacao e bons contrastes.
Parabens e abracos,
Ralf

Hello Antonella
Interesting portrait and very interesting model's face. I like her deep unusual eyes. Very attractive and attracting.
Thanks for sharing.:)
Also I like the butterfly:)

Bonjour Antonella
Je partage aussi ton analyse concernant la pose qui est excellente!
As tu utilisé le flash? La peau est peut être un peu trop blanche, je vais peut être essayer de faire un traitement N et B à partir de ta version couleur?
Bravo à toi!
Eric

Ciao Antonella :o)

I have a look at your gallery. My prefered shot is this wonderful portrait of your daughter. So nice light and shadow, smooth expression and good choice in B&W ! Bravo :)

Best greetings
Marylou

HI Antonella
Your Daughter is pretty, but you could make so much more of her.
Firstly the title, sorry this is not a glamerous shot, so the title disappoints. For Glamour, the hair is wrong, the clothes, the lighting.
The problems with this shot as has probably already been pointed out, over exposure on the skin,no light in the eyes, although great eye contact.
In a harsh light situation, use a reflector to difuse and soften the light. This light is very harsh and unflattering.
Look for catchlights in the eyes which will give them life.
Think about what is the point of the photo? what are you trying to say, depict? The title may give a clue to this.
IS it an emotion?, a mood?, sexy? a record?
Hope that helps
Martin

Hi Antonella,
Lovely model and very good pose ... she is a natural indeed. Good tonal range and contrast. Well captured and composed! tfs and have a nice weekend.

Hello Antonella! Very good portrait of your favorite subject!
:-) Godd pose, well composed and a beautiful light, well done, grazie!

Mario

Hi Antonella,

Must be great to have such a beautiful model at hand, I'm sure she did like this resulting image.
You have a function on your D40 that regulates exposure/light and you can correct that down with maybe 2 stops. I think ttreen/Tricia has the same camera and I am sure she can help you out here. That way you can keep the light as it is, but probably get to ctach more of her skintexture in the light areas.

Lovely job.

TFS
Els

It's an attractive portrait in both versions, but Flaminia has wonderful brown eyes that can be appreciated most in the colour one.
Ciao,
Donato
