It seems Flaminia is looking a bit boring to you, did it took too long before you released the shutter, ? haha
In my opinion, the sharpening doesn't do good to a woman portrait, makes it too hars.

Very nice portrait, Antonella. I like the look of those big sad eyes. As you state in your note, Flaminia connects pretty easily with the viewer and their emotions. TFS

non male questo ritratto.. e bello.. se non fosse che hai un poco ecceduto nei dettagli.. per migliorare la messa a fuoco suppongo.. le imperfezioni della pelle (troppo salame o cioccolata?).. forse sciupano un poco la bellezza nitida di tua figlia!! bello sguardo.. profondo, intenso.. mi piace anche l'accosto a puccini.. bello.. aumentà l'intensità del tuo post!! workshop d'obbligo.. un omaggio.. per dedicare alle signore fish un poco più di attenzione che una semplice critica!! ;))

you have such a flair for portraiture. The right eye is centered perfectly and your daughter is off center. Great light, marvelous detail, wonderful pose and expression. She has the most beautiful eyes, too. Fabulous job! Molto grazie,

Hi Antonella,
Your daughter is obviously a very pretty model and her easiness in front of your camera is comfortingly respectable , she's very natural here as in most portraits of her in your gallery i like her pose her expression is great but taken all this in consideration i believe that technically you have overdone it a little .I made a three steps correction in a workshop from the 'unchanged version ' that i find basically quite correct , hope it's ok with you Antonella ,just my personal view and a little practice of course,

Amazing portrait, I think you have achieved your objective of a deep look, I think the toned and DOV is spot on for a close portrait. I agree with Liliana, I like the texture.

I looked at this photo, and thought wow, thats seriously oversharpened. I thought I would do a mod. to process it the way I would have. However when I looked at the orginal photo, I could see I would be wasting my time because the face is out of focus.
The point of focus is on the arm.
There are three things to remember in taking a portrait, eyes, eyes, and eyes!
You must get the point of focus on the eyes.
As you say they are the windows to the soul...
Best thing for this photo.....delete.
Its your daughter, its not like you wont get another chance!

Hello Antonella,
Sorry that I don't share the general enthousiasm. If I had to critique the original version, I would be very pleased because I like its general softness that does justice to your daughter's deep and mysterious look.
I think the final version is an unfortunate example of how postprocessing can alter an artistic photo. To me, the oversharpening, as well as the harsh outline of your daughter's face and body, take away the poetry.
But I agree with you: your daugther is an exellent model; she knows how to pose.
Hope you don't mind my words, which - after all - are just expressing my personal opinion. Feel free to (dis)agree ;o).

It must be great to have such a daughter Antonella, she makes indeed a wonderful model and she has the most amazing eyes.

Looking at her, I would have ask her to lift her head just a fraction, sothat she does not have to wrinke her pretty forehead and that way also a bit less of the white underneath her pupils would show.
Believe me I know how difficult it is to make portraits and I just started making babysteps in this area....

vos portrait sont tous très impressionnant. Si je devais faire une remarque je dirais que l'image est peut-être un peu trop dur. un très léger filtre adoucissant créerait plus de romantisme. Mais cela n'est qu'un détail.

c'est une très bonne photo.

Very lovely portrait shot and a very strong expressive look in B&W. The exposure on the face is nicely done although I am not sure about the grainy effect.
