[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Not everyone in Sicily smiled for the camera. In this case, a friend of these two men was curious about my lens so I let him play with the camera. When he gave it back I took some pictures of him and his friends.

The black and white conversion is from the advice of Siarhei Biazberdy, using the channel mixer and curves. Thanks Siarhei....

Hello Roger;) Great portrait. Great subjects. Both.
nice conversion;)
P.S. usually when i use chennel mixer I previously look at the pic in different channels: red, blue, green.
Then I choose the one i like most.
For example red.
And then in channel mixer
I give more percents to the channel I like most.
for instance - red - 70% green -15 and blue 15.
Usually the summ should be 100% ( but it's not a law;)

PS. In this portrait I would add more sharpness to the eyes of the right man
P.P.S usually aading grains makes these portraits look better;) But Your grainy background did it itself;) no need to add anything. I really like it

Hi Roger
I can't help but laugh at the looks they gave you. especially if you asked them to smile.
I consider this a great shot as they are not posing just looking like they don't trust you, almost newspaper type shot.
Also whatever you did in pp it turned out great as I find this looks very natural.

Hi Roger
wonderful photo and compo. Excelent b/w work.
Congrats, mb

Strong portrait, Roger. Their looks are really breath-taking. I feel a kind of menace here... Could be a sequence of a film or documentary.
B&W-conversion was an excellent idea. It adds to the general atmosphere.
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hi, Roger!

Excellent double portrait. Two different characters, in an interesting different posture, that a little tenseness radiates. A picture is very interesting!

jazmin

Interesting candid portrait, Roger. You caught these men in very real and very different expressions. The details and contours of their faces are well brought out in b&w, as is the texture of the wall in the background. Nice work.

Hi Roger,

Another amazing shot! Natural faces with natural expressions. Really no smile! TFS!

Regards,
Masroor

Capturing street portrait, like very much the texture and the B/W.
It reminds me to some Leonardo Sciascia atmospheres, a well known sicilian writer.

Ciao, Antonella

I love this series of people shots Roger.
These two look like quite the characters!
Excellent idea to do this in B/W, excellent conversion.
Well done.

Stange to say but your background makes these men so outstanding frontal. I love their playful pose, half turned and with lot of attention in 2 directions.
Italay is great for portraits through sun and the faces drafted by tough experience.
Thanks
Huub

Hello Roger,

They pose well together!
Or you capture them at the right moment...
I like the expressions captured, Mafioso style..!

Greetings,
Pablo -
