I think there is a nice idea here, but not sure about the final result so much.

I can understand why some people may be offended - the issue of knife crime is very topical in the UK just now, it appears to be dramatically on the increase with stabbings/murders in the news constantly. I don't think it is an issue to really be treated as a joke.

That aside, I do see some potential in the image and what you are trying to express. I agree with a lot of what rewshearer has said and I would add that a b/w conversion may add to the overall feel to are trying to portry.

Some real power and menace in this shot Anna ... although nice to see some colour (I think) ...

A small issue with the level of camera shake - at 1/20s it would be hard to get a clear shot, but I'm guessing that wasn't your intention. I do like the way you've captured the knife in actuality, and your face in reflection.

Having posted my own "horror" theme shots in the past I know that not everybody can relate, much depends on their own personal context I think.

Hi Ania,

Shocked at first of the image, but overlooked that to try and visualize your creative thought that went into the photo.

I think it would look more dramatic in black and white. Like the old Alfred Hitchcock films. Something about the black and white that is scary, I guess because our imagination can visualize the about of "blood" - red that we desire in the photo.

Interesting that you have fun. Knowing it's all fake makes a difference than seeing the violent photos that have been posted by others.

Scary image. Fortunately I can look at an image, like most of the other people on here and it does not make me want to go out and kill someone. Yes knife culture is bad but you have to know where to draw the line. Fortunately 99% of people know where to draw the line and the 1% that don't won't be on here anyway, they will be congregating in gangs at the end of some street in hoodies.

there is something in this shot, i think the intensity of the shot is powerful. may be the colours are too strong, or the way you have portrayed this shot is an exception. it would have become more powerful if you consentrated on the expressions and for that you had to be careful for this camera shake.
you have ried very well to convey the horror.
